The Sunny Side of the Alps: From Scotland to Slovenia on a Shoestring

Living in Slovenia Book One

Roy Clark

Tired of soggy Scottish summers and voracious biting insects, Roy and Justi seize the day and leave the Scottish Highlands for Slovenia with a carful of their belongings, their border collie and the dream of a new life.

The trouble is, they have little money, vague prospects and have never been to Slovenia. Adventures and near-death experiences await them in the hot summers and snowy winters of the Julian Alps, but will their passion for the great outdoors be enough to transform their dream into a practical reality?

Who is Roy Clark?

Since his childhood, Roy has been drawn to wild, knobbly landscapes and has taken every opportunity to escape from his home city of Liverpool to seek his rural idyll and a slower pace of life. After much tramping over the knobbly Scottish hills and the even knobblier Julian Alps of Slovenia, he now resides in the slightly less knobbly West of Ireland.

Testimonials

“Ant Press provides all the benefits of a small publishing company – they know their authors, care about each project, and pay close attention to every detail – and they’ve got the know-how and professionalism of a much bigger firm. But Ant Press is better. They go the extra mile to make sure each book is well-produced and properly launched. And they’re great to work with, making it fun to be a part of Ant Press.”
